The idea I have in mind is to focus on the Bystander Effect, a phenomenon where the more people there are in a crowd, the less likely anybody is willing to help a person in trouble, thinking someone else in the crowd will step in. Because of that, many will likely think the same thing and in the end, no one helps the person in trouble. I talk about this because I've seen people just walking about their day when somebody is being harassed, bullied, or even in life-threatening danger, some people can record the scene as 'evidence', but one person can do that, the next person should step in, instead of EVERYBODY pulling out their phones. Especially now in today's age where the discrimination has become more out in the open, shameless and unfiltered. So it's upsetting to see nobody taking action and instead just sitting idly by.

interesting topic, intrigued to see what style you end up animating this with and how you bring these visuals to life
ReplyDeleteGood topic that isn't talked about enough. Out of curiousity, what made you choose this?
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting subject! I remember seeing a psychology video about this once where a woman (Kitty Genovese) who was killed in a courtyard surrounded by hundreds of windows of apartments, yet nobody even called the cops until the next morning because everyone supposedly assumed someone else did.
